The Company has successfully packaged a 70P Elliott blower,
gearbox, 1000 KW motor (2-pole) with double extended shaft
and 500 KW startup steam turbine for starting the string.
The entire train was mounted on a common base-plate with
integrated lube-oil system. Startup turbine was a used back
pressure turbine which was refurbished and rerated as a condensing
turbine. Changeover from turbine drive to motor drive is smooth
with motor starting current being limited to 100% of the FLC.
